Grace Christian Senior Guard Phil Martin Jr: Stepped up for his team in a major way in the 2nd half of the game, scoring 12 of his 16 points in that half. He’s seeing much more time on the ball as a PG which should only help him as he transitions to the next level. D3 programs such as NC Wesleyan and Piedmont College have both had him in for visits recently.
New Life Christian Junior Guard Alvin Singleton: The unsung hero in this matchup, he stepped up for his team big time on both ends of the floor. On defense he played well, defending at a high level and making things difficult for opponents. Offensively he caught fire from three point land, knocking down three treys overall but two big time treys in the 4th quarter.
Grace Christian Senior Forward Allan Taylor: Size is an attribute that simply can’t be taught and this young man is a legit 6’7/6’8 that doesn’t mind playing inside the paint. He still has some things to work on but prospect wise you have to like what he has the chance to be over the next few years as it’s rare to see youngsters that don’t mind playing in the paint.
New Life Christian Senior Guard Dahaun Jones: Impressive on both ends of the floor, he provided consistent pressure on defense and was efficient on the offensive end. The time that he has put in on his game, especially his perimeter shooting, is clearly showing and JUCO programs should check him out.
Grace Christian Senior Guard Jonah Murr: Got off to a solid start in the first half scoring a few buckets but had a quiet second half. However we like the fact that he continued to stay active and engaged throughout the night, he didn’t stop attacking the basket or give up on plays.
New Life Christian Junior Guard Pharell Davis: Offensively he didn’t have much of a showing but he brought the effort that his team needed on defense and rebounding the ball. He’s one of the taller players on his team at 6’4 and ended up drawing the matchup with a 6’8 opponent for a good amount of time, in which he did a solid job.
New Life Christian Senior Guard Maleik Hill: His team needed some extra scoring as they were missing one of their starting guards and provided that. He caught fire from three point land with four made treys and 16 points overall on the night, he plays the game with a business like demeanor which you have to love.
