1. Justyn Hunter – Fairfax 2020
As he enters his senior year, Hunter is establishing himself as one of the area’s top point guards. He plays his role well within the team concept and doesn’t try to do too much. On offense, he constantly keeps the ball moving and makes sure that the offense doesn’t stagnate. He’s always looking for his teammates. He makes the right pass, and the extra pass to get the best shot possible. He can be aggressive offensively if the team needs him to be.
2. Barrington Hargress – Ribet Academy 2022
Hargress is a tough up and coming young guard. He’s strong offensively, and most other guards don’t have the strength or size to defend him. He’s a slasher who can attack the rim with ease. Once he gets into the lane, he can finish strong over bigger defenders. He has great body control when attacking the defense. He has solid footwork in the paint for a guard is very crafty. Decent shooter from the outside.
3. Marcus Reedy – Ribet Academy 2020
Reedy’s main strength is his rebounding. He’s got good length and uses that to his advantage when it comes to crashing the glass. He times himself well and he’s particularly good on the offensive glass with keeping possessions alive and getting himself put-back opportunities. Offensively, he can finish well at the rim. He’s also a very active defender who can play as the team’s interior defensive anchor.
4. Noah Laurie – Westchester 2020
Laurie comes off the bench for the Comets, but he stood out with his ability to run the team’s offense. He’s a good ball handler and he acts as the team’s primary facilitator with the second unit. He has good court vision and awareness and stays within the flow of the game. He keeps the ball moving and is always looking to set his teammates up for an easy shot. Plays particularly well in the half-court directing the offense.
