The lanky 6-foot-4, 170-pound wing from Western Christian recently picked up his first two scholarship offers, one of which during his first official visit, and now he’s thinking about making the decision to sign in the fall before basketball season starts.
This past weekend, Richardson made an official visit to Seattle Pacific where things went even better than he could have hoped. “I loved it there and they offered me a full scholarship also,” Richardson said. “I loved all the guys, they were all really close and nice and fun to be around. The coaches were a blast, they are all young so they understand the guys and have fun, but two of the three of them have kids too so they also understand and have that maturity and ability to lead and love at the same time. They were also just some great people.”
“And the team is young, there’s a lot of freshmen and sophomores and only two seniors, so the people I met on the visit would potentially be the people I get to help build the program with,” Richardson continued. “And it feels like it’s pretty secluded from the city which is nice, but it’s also like five minutes away from downtown Seattle! So you really get the best of both worlds.”
As much as Richardson enjoyed his time at Seattle Pacific, he did not commit. He also recently picked up an offer from Corban and he’s scheduling a visit to Northwest Nazarene, mostly likely in early November. Richardson is committed to playing out the process before deciding, but a choice may come sooner than later.
“I think I want to sign before basketball season really gets going, because I want the recruiting process to be over with you know,” he noted.
Richardson currently ranks as the #7 player in the updated PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
