Continue ReadingDonovan Vickers is a 6’1 Point Guard out of Edmond Santa Fe High School. During the summers Vickers plays with PWP on the grassroots circuit. He has been apart of some good teams at Santa Fe, including a state championship game run in 2018, but they ultimately fell in the championship to Putnam City North.
Vickers looks to draw off his experience to be able to lead his team this season. He thinks that his ability to lead is one of his stronger attributes. Not only is he a good leader on the court, he is also a team player. He has a strong ability to distribute and share the ball between his teammates.
Vickers also realizes he always has to keep improving his game. This offseason he has been working a lot on his outside shot to add another level to his game to make himself that much harder to defend this upcoming season.
Vickers is still in the start of his recruiting process right now. He has yet to go on any official visits to any colleges. He is yet to hold any offers, but he looks to build off a strong senior season to gather some recruiting momentum. Although he does not have the buzz quite yet, what Vickers is looking for in a school is simple.
“A place where I can fit in,” said Vickers.
Edmond Santa Fe wants to return to the state tournament after missing out last season. The ultimate goal for every season is obviously to try to win the gold ball. As for Vicker’s personal goal for the season. He just wants to win. He realizes he needs to win to get to where the team wants to be and that is his main goal for the upcoming season.
