A Truman State commit, Miller helped lead the Regals to State last year. He led the league in scoring, and was tops in the state in made 3-pointers with 99. And it’s not like he’s just a high-volume gunner, he shot 43% from the arc. Regina is the team to beat in this division, and Miller is far and away their best player.
First Team
2020 Masen Miller, Regina (20.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals, 99 3PM, 43.0 3P%)
Miller, a D2 commit to Truman State, is far and away the league’s leading returning scorer, and his 99 made 3-pointers were tops in the state last year. One of the most talented shooters we’ve seen in our time at Prep Hoops, he should have a huge senior year for the Regals, the class of the division.
2021 Ashton Cook, Regina (13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.3 blocks, 56.9 FG%)
Also a standout quarterback for the Regals’ perennial power football team, Cook is an athletic, long forward who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a great second option alongside Miller, a big man who runs the floor and finishes at the rim.
2020 Frank Bierman, Tipton (13.4 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals, 57.7 FG%)
Bierman is a well-built, 6-5 forward with broad shoulders and great hands, and he used those skills to lead 2A in rebounding last season. An athletic big man who runs the floor well, he shot 57.7% from the floor for the Tigers last year.
2020 Trent Pelzer, Tipton (10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals)
The 5-9 guard will have the ball in his hands a lot this winter for the Tigers, who look like the only team in the division with a chance at knocking off Regina. He ranked third on the team in scoring last year and second in both assists and steals.
2020 Gavin Chown, West Liberty (15.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals)
The Comets won just two games last year, but Chown was good in those wins, averaging 17 points a game. He ranks second among the division’s returnees in scoring and tops in steals.
