In attendance were some of the top shooters in the state and for the most part they lived up to billing. Here’s a look at some of the top marksmen from the event.
Jesse White (2020 Barlow) – You can’t have any list of shooters at any event in Oregon without including – if not starting with White. The 6-foot senior was his usual self knocking down deep threes but he wasn’t necessarily just bombing from long range either as he was getting it done also in the mid-range and to the basket.
Brandon Hopson (2021 Roosevelt) – Hopson played a lot off of the ball so that gave him an opportunity to showcase his shooting ability. The 6-foot junior was especially effective in the catch-and-shoot, hitting several high-arching jumpers from distance.
Jacob Tompkins (2020 Summit) – Tompkins is one of the top shooters in the state at any age group and he was able to showcase that at the Expo. Especially dangerous on the baseline, the 6-foot-4 senior showed off a nice touch from the mid-range as well as from three.
Braden Sato (2020 Sunset) – If there’s one guy who isn’t shy about launching it from way deep, it’s Sato. The 5-foot-9 senior gets it off quickly and because of his smaller stature, knows how to create space for himself to get the shot off. Sometimes he’s off-balance or fading away, yet it still goes in.
Noah Ogoli (2022 Tualatin) – Ogoli is a pure point guard but there’s no question he can keep defenses honest. The 5-foot-10 sophomore spotted up from long range and when he was wide open and given time to get set, consistently sank some high-arching threes.
Koby Williamson (2020 Santiam Christian) – Of all the big guys in attendance, Williamson showed the most marksmanship from distance. The 6-foot-8 senior faced up and knocked down some shots from 15 feet on out past the three-point line from the top of the arc and on the wings.
Christian Rowell (2022 Mountainside) – We had heard from Mountainside head coach Dustin Hewitt about Rowell’s soft lefty touch and we definitely saw it in action. The 6-foot-5 sophomore spotted up on catch-and-shoot opportunities and nailed a number of 15-18 foot jumpers.
