Kevin Overton 2022 Team Griffin wing
As of late, Kevin Overton has blossomed as a player into a more complete athlete at the wing position. Overton especially impressed me with his ability to rebound the ball from the wing. He was unafraid to follow his own shot from the 3-point attempt or crash the boards on a teammate’s missed shot, an aspect of his game that has developed as he has become more confident on the floor. He was tenacious, smart and unafraid.
Darvis Raspberry 2021 HoopSmart wing-forward
Davis Raspberry is an impressive athlete with a strong body and wide frame. I was most astounded by how agile Raspberry was, moving about the floor gracefully and accelerating surprisingly quickly. Raspberry rebounded well thanks to this agility, which allowed him to swiftly attack the boards and position himself in the best place to grab boards.
Prince Okojie 2021 HoopSmart wing
Prince Okojie’s athletic repertoire came in handy for HoopSmart many times, but possibly none more often than his offensive rebounding. Okojie was able to gather boards, get put-backs, and keep the drive alive for his team all weekend. Okojie appeared one of those athletes who takes pride in his rebounding abilities and wanted to capture as many as he could.
Jacob Mills 2021 Tulsa Hawks Blue forward
Jacob Mills has shaped up to be one of the most outstanding rebounders in Oklahoma this summer. Mills gathers his share of boards each game, battling in the paint with other bodies and usually winning the battle. Mills has strength and size in his favor, but still has great footwork and swift positioning.
