With that being said, the importance of having outstanding shooting on your squad has increased in a major way, let’s take a look at some outstanding shooters from July.
Big Shots Elite WV 2020 Guard Kaden Methany: During the Live period session in Myrtle Beach, he put up video game numbers with his performances as he was on fire from three point land. One game in particular that had D1 coaches impressed was a 45 Point performance where he knocked down 9 three pointers.
Team Xplosion 2020 Guard Bradley Dean: He caught fire from three point land early and often in the games that we got the chance to see him play. The ability to get his shot off pretty quickly is something that is a positive for the next level, he already hold an offers from UVA-Wise and interest from LM programs.
Big Shots Elite NC 2020 Guard Jay Hickman: We have seen him get it going from three point land during the high school season as well as with his AAU team so the month of July was no different. Especially efficient off the catch and in the corner, he’s the type of player that fits into a team well and can go for double digit treys at any given moment.
WV Impact 2020 Forward Robertas Jonaitis: The 6’8 forward raised his stock through his play during the live period by showing a skillset with plenty of upside that colleges should enjoy. His ability to knock down the trey ball was clear, which wasn’t much of a surprise, considering his overseas background basketball wise.
Flight 22 2020 Guard Jamison Long: The Guard from Topsail has made his case as being one of the better shooters in the state due to his play not only on the high school level but AAU as well. He has the nice mixture of craftiness with the ball as well as deep shooting range, which makes him a pretty difficult player to defend.
Team Wall 2021 Forward Sam Perez: You have to love what he brings to the table from an upside and skillset perspective, he’s 6’7 that can play multiple positions on the court and has a high IQ for the game. His shooting is one of the things that you notice early on, he knocks down shots at a high rate but doesn’t take too many bad shots. Elon and Charleston have been showing interest and we only expect that list to continue to grow as time goes on.
