Amari George- Wisconsin Lutheran
George is not an elite prospect (yet), but he has all of the tools necessary to become one. The forward is 6’7″ and shines on the defensive end. George’s main adversary on Friday was highly touted freshman Gus Yalden. As the main obstacle between Yalden and a bucket, George did a great job slowing down the star freshman. He can throw a wrench in a team’s offensive plans with his long arms and shot-blocking ability. Little guesswork is needed to determine that George is on pace for a great senior year.
Tanner Resch- Sussex Hamilton
Already known as one of the best shooters in the state, Resch proved that he can do more than just knock down shots from the outside. Displaying his full offensive game, Resch scored 45 points in two wins and led his team in scoring on Friday. Patrick Baldwin Jr. attracted spectators, but Tanner Resch stood out as the top performer in both matchups. For a short time, it seemed as if Resch’s time at Sussex Hamilton had expired. However, that changed quickly. With him returning for his junior season, the Chargers will be contenders for a D1 championship.
Keaton Ferris- Kaukauna
Keaton Ferris led Kaukauna to two wins on Friday afternoon. Ferris is one of the most experienced players in Wisconsin— and it shows. He is a tad bit undersized at 5’11”, but it does not hamper him in the slightest. Scoring 25 points in both of Kaukauna’s wins, Ferris buoyed his team. He made shots all over the court and proved that he could be a sleeper Division One prospect.
Chris Morgan- Kaukauna
It didn’t take Chris Morgan too long to get comfortable playing with Kaukauna. Morgan—a top guard in the 2022 class—showed off his slick passing skills in a Ghost victory. He scored just six points but created a countless number of opportunities for his teammates. Morgan and Keaton Ferris will make up one of the best backcourts in Wisconsin next year.
Jake Buchanan- Kimberly
If Kimberly wants to play at a fast pace next year, Buchanan will be the key. As the only starter returning for the Papermakers, the 6’0″ PG will need to have a big season. Buchanan is a shifty guard who can get to the rim and finish well. He is also an above-average shooter and passer. Buchanan scored 24 points while helping his team to a 104- 66 victory over Eau Claire Memorial.
Isaac Lindsey- Mineral Point
Fresh off his commitment to UNLV, Lindsey had two solid performances. The 6’3″ SG converted on six threes and scored 25 points in a 63-52 win over Sturgeon Bay. Most of his 25 points came from beyond the arc, but Lindsey also proved that he can score in a multitude of ways.
Caden Boser- Eau Claire Memorial
Eau Claire Memorial drew two tough matchups, but that did not stop Caden Boser from having solid outings. Boser combined for 44 points in both losses. He was able to knock down open shots and find his way into the paint for buckets. Boser was creative on the offensive end and made it very hard for opposing teams to slow him down. Drawing interest from multiple D1 programs, Boser will be a player to keep an eye on during the 2019-2020 season.
