Rodney Rice is a guard that is currently listed at 6’3. One of the best attributed Rice brings to the court is his ability to score the basketball. This spring on the EYBL 16u division played for Team Durant where he averaged 14.2 points per game. He will be one of the main factors in helping Team Durant bring home a Peach Jam Championship. He caught up with us on how it has been playing in Peach Jam.
“It has been great, there is good competition and we have been competing hard. We are top 10 going into Peach Jam.”
Overall he has had a great summer as we are in the halfway point of June, “My summer has been good, I have just been in the gym working really, practicing with my team, getting to know each other and just working on building good team chemistry.”
When he is not playing with his Team Durant teammates, he is participating in Capitol Hoops Summer League with his Bullis teammates trying to get better, “Just to get better and work on my negatives and just try to build that up.”
When asked what his negatives are, he said, “Rebounding, finding my open teammates.”
As Rice is still young, colleges will be all over him trying to land his services at the next level. One high major school that is already in the picture is Virginia Tech.
“The coaches have seen me work out, I know coach Christian and I know they have been in touch.”
