He’s a streaky shooter but boy was he on this weekend. Johnson can really shoot the ball when he’s on. In the second half, he started taking some bad shots and stopped letting the game come to him, but overall it was a super impressive day for him. He shot off the catch and off the dribble, both at a high clip. He was also able to pass the ball well and show off his athleticism and bounce. Johnson has a tendency to back off on defense, but with his athleticism he could turn that into a positive if he’s able to improve his on ball defense. Scoring 20+ points, Johnson proved he’s a high volume scorer, but sometimes that means he has to take a lot of shots to get going. I know that college coaches were impressed with the way he was able to knock down threes this weekend. Johnson also was impressive handling the ball, as he committed few turnovers and embraced pressure. Overall, it was a good weekend with overall stock improvement for PJ Johnson.
