The 2019 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team training camp is expected to feature 34 athletes from June 15th through June 18th at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Out of those 34 athletes headed to Colorado Springs, Colorado, three of those top prospects will be from the state of Georgia. 2020 PG Sharife Cooper of McEachern High School, 2020 C Walker Kessler of Woodward Academy, and Auburn commit 2019 F Isaac Okoro of McEachern High School will be making his return in a USA uniform.
The 6-foot-6 forward, Isaac Okoro, is coming off a fantastic senior season at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia where him and AAU teammated Sharife Cooper led McEachern to a 32-0 overall record and hanging the school’s first ever boys state championship. Okoro also captured him a gold medal during last summer’s U17 USA World Cup Team and competed in the annual Nike Hoop Summit event held in Portland, Oregon back in April.
For Cooper and Kessler, this will be their first official tryout for any of the USA World Cup Team’s. Cooper and Kessler both have participated in USA training camps before and most recently appeared in Minnesota back in April during USA Basketball’s NCAA Final Four training camp.
