Malik Abdul-Wahid – 2020 – SF – Ray Allen Select
The stock just won’t stop going up for Abdul-Wahid. A highly intriguing wing, Abdul-Wahid has gone from a role player at Brookfield Central to probably one of their stars next season. The 6-foot-5 junior has clearly been in the gym working his tail off, expanding his offensive game in large strides. We currently have Abdul-Wahid ranked No. 55 in the class of 2020. We now see him in the low 30’s, potentially late 20’s with plenty of upside left.
Grant Asman – 2021 – PF – Pack Attack
Sitting at No. 41 in the class of 2021 rankings, Asman likely played his way up into the 20’s after this weekend. A skilled, versatile forward with plenty of room to grow physically, Asman looks like he’ll make substantial jumps from his sophomore to junior seasons at Kimberly. Asman can handle and shoot the basketball at 6-foot-8. He’s also got the versatility defensively to switch onto the perimeter and has always been a strong shot blocking presence.
Quentin Bolton – 2021 – F – Phenom University NY2LA
Strong, physical, and versatile, Bolton can do a lot of different things on the floor and play different styles. The 6-foot-5 forward has an offensive skillset that allows him to score away from the rim, but a frame that can punish defenders on the interior. Bolton can grab a rebound, bring it up the floor, and either get to the hoop or create a quality jumper. Currently unranked, Bolton impressed us during our first viewing and we see him somewhere in the 20-30 range for now.
Carter Capstran – 2021 – PF – Wisconsin Swing
Capstran was solid all weekend against top competition, often scoring in double figures. The Franklin standout is a big body with some finesse. He can step away and shoot from mid-range effectively and can also score when his momentum is going away from the basket. It was tough to get a feel for him last summer while he played with a loaded Phenom University squad. After this weekend, Capstran will be pushing for a top 25 spot.
Alex Leach – 2020 – PF – Phenom University NY2LA
Leach showed some good promise over the weekend. Physically, Leach has some very enticing measurables. He’s got length and solid build. As for his skills, Leach is pretty raw, but continues to flash the ability to catch in traffic and get to the rim and shoot the ball a little bit from mid-range. Leach’s best days are likely at the next level and he’ll have a chance to develop down the road.
Donald McHenry – 2021 – PG – Phenom University NY2LA
This kid can absolutely create with the basketball in his hands. McHenry needs to put on weight, but he’s got great length and explosiveness on the ball for a point guard. The lefty has blow-by ability and is very slippery in traffic. He’ll set up defenders with a hesitation dribble and either get to the cup or hit them with a pull-up jumper. We’ve got McHenry all the way back at No. 66 in the 2021 rankings, which is quite far off from what he actually is at the moment.
Brian Parzych – 2021 – G – Wisconsin Swing
After a couple of viewings, Parzych belongs in the 30’s. A high motor guard that constantly gets to the rim and gives 100 percent every possession, Parzych just doesn’t stop working. If he’s not a scholarship player at the next level, this will be one of the fiercest battles at the Division 3 level in the state of Wisconsin.
Jack Rose – 2022 – SF – Wisconsin Playground Club Black.
We debuted Rose at No. 12 in the class of 2022 rankings. You get the best idea of where a prospect stands between their sophomore and junior seasons, but Rose is showing some Division 1 potential. A 6-foot-4 wing that can knock down and create shots, Rose also plays his tail off defensively. He’s a blue-collar wing that plays an intense brand of basketball. If he continues to score the ball as well as he has this spring, we could see Rose playing at the highest level.
Max Weisbrod – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Swing
Currently unranked in 2022, that won’t last. Weisbrod is a heady playmaker that can knock down tough shots. He was instrumental in the Swing’s big win over Wisconsin Playground Club on Sunday at Spiece. A freshman who played varsity, Weisbrod definitely benefitted from the bumps and bruises of last season and was arguably the most important player on the floor Sunday in a matchup that featured some of the top talent in the state.
Tre White – 2022 – G – Mac Irvin Fire
White is already the number one prospect in the class of 2022, but definitely put a stranglehold on that after this weekend. Playing up 16U, White was dominant and ruthless as a scorer. Already holding a handful of power-five scholarship offers, White was a human highlight reel in Fort Wayne.
