Jeremiah Burke – 2021 – G/F – Wisconsin United
Burke is an intriguing scorer with versatility. The sophomore had a very good morning, leading Wisconsin United to two wins. At 6-foot-5 Burke can size his man up and take advantage of mismatch opportunities. He loves to pull his man away from the rim and go to work. Burke has a good-looking outside jumper and has the strength to take the ball to the rim. He was in double figures in both Saturday morning victories for United.
Jack Campion – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Speed is a big part of Campion’s game and he was toasting defenders in a Saturday morning win. Campion sets defenders up with a slight hesitation and then it’s straight to the bucket. The freshman guard had a big second half, hitting the opposition with a flurry of baskets and igniting a big run for PGC. If Campion can pair his quickness on the ball with a consistent jumper, he’s going to be a nightmare to defend in the coming years.
Micah Causey – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playground Club
He’s small (5-8), but Causey plays the game with a lot of passion. Always talking and communicating, the freshman lead guard is the straw that stirs the drink for PGC. Causey has plenty of speed and burst with the ball in his hands. When gets out and goes in the open floor, Causey is like a blur. A fearless attacker, Causey uses his speed to beat rotating defenders to the rim and can adjust in mid-air to avoid shot blockers. While he prefers to create offense going to the rim, Causey can be a threat from outside as well.
Nick Fugiasco – 2020 – SG – World Hoops Elite
Fugiasco tends to fly under the radar during the high school season with a very talented Racine Case squad, but this is a prospect worth knowing. The junior wing has really good size (6-4) and length. He’s got a nice pull-up game, using a rainbow arc to drain shots from 3-point and mid-range. Fugiasco is also fluid in transition, willing to take the ball coast to coast. Going back to last year, Fugiasco has quietly performed very well on the AAU circuit and is a name worth more recognition.
Isaiah Hammond – 2021 – F – JH1
Hammond was very active in a win on Saturday. The sophomore forward was crashing the glass, getting his hands on loose balls, and running the floor, which led to a lot of production for JH1. A bit undersized, Hammond plays bigger than his size and can do some things on the perimeter. Hammond is a smooth, bouncy athlete that doesn’t stop working until the whistle blows.
Logan Jedwabny – 2020 – SG – Wisconsin Blizzard
Ready to blow up this spring, Jedwabny is going to be a high priority college prospect. The Kaukauna native has been shooting the cover off the ball since December and is only gaining more confidence. Known more for his spot-up shooting, Jedwabny has added the ability to create space off the bounce and drill triples with a hand in his face. Physically, Jedwabny has the size, length, and strength to be a really good defender at the next level too. Expect Division 3’s, particularly WIAC’s to be all-in here and it’s likely Jedwabny will catch Division 2 looks as well with the way he’s knocking down shots.
Zac Johnson – 2021 – SG – Wisconsin Playmakers
Johnson just came into the gym warmed up. The sophomore sharpshooter scored 11 of the first 12 points for the Playmakers on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting. Johnson would score 21 points in the first half alone as the Playmakers took a 45-18 lead into the break. A sweet-shooting wing, Johnson is extremely dangerous from beyond the arc. If defenders don’t crowd him and put a hand up, Johnson can easily get himself in rhythm. In addition to his shooting, Johnson killed the Young Legends with transition passing, hitting his bigs up the floor for easy buckets.
Max Klesmit – 2020 – G – Wisconsin Blizzard
Getting a mixture of Division 1 and 2 interest this spring, Kelsmit showed out Saturday afternoon. Klesmit was scoring from all areas in a loss to the Wolverines and went through a series a hot spurts. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is a terrific pull-up shooter with a smooth stroke. He’s at his best in isolation, breaking down defenders and either shooting over the top or getting down hill towards the bucket. More equipped to play shooting guard, Klesmit can handle the point responsibilities as well if needed. A sure-fire Division 2 prospect, it likely won’t be long until the scholarships begin coming in for Klesmit.
Max Kunnert – 2021 – SG – Wisconsin Sharks
Kunnert scored a game-high 22 points in a win Saturday night. The sophomore guard has one of the smoothest mid-range games in the state and is comfortable scoring off-balance or going away from the rim. Kunnert got extremely hot in the first half, scoring 16 points. Playing on a very deep Brookfield Academy team, Kunnert doesn’t always get a chance to take over games offensively. A rise-and-fire guard who can score on and off the ball, Kunnert’s stock is going way up after the Rock Spring Classic and he’ll see his ranking rise during the next release.
Dylan Lisitza – 2021 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers
A skilled and crafty point guard, Lisitza made a number of nice plays in Saturday’s win over the Young Legends. The Wisconsin Rapids native is an excellent change of pace guard that fools defenders by stopping and starting again and does an adequate job of looking them off with his eyes. Lisitza is a pass-first floor general, but can shine when he looks for his shot. Lisitza plays fast, but never out of control and has excellent touch in the paint.
Marcus Mbow – 2021 – PF – Young Lions – Teal
Mbow gave Wisconsin Playground Club fits in 16U pool play. The undersized forward used his wide frame down on the block very well, able to muscle defenders under the rim and finish over the top. Mbow is very comfortable 1-on-1 in the paint. He’s got a good set of moves and nifty footwork. There was a stretch in the second half where the Young Lions dumped it down inside to Mbow time and time again and he could not be stopped.
Kamari McGee – 2021 – PG – Wisconsin Sharks
There’s a lot of people in the state who don’t know how good this kid is. He’s not a headline name in the 2021 class, but McGee can absolutely play with the best. A strong point guard who’s advanced physically for his age, McGee can play some bully ball in the paint. He’s also got very tight handles and burst off the bounce to pull-up for shots or attack the rim. A willing defender who plays with terrific anticipation, McGee is always disrupting the passing lanes and picking the pocket of the ball handler.
Matthew Ojielo – 201 – PG – Young Legends
He’s a little flashy, but Ojielo can put on a show with the ball in his hands. An outstanding ball handler, Ojielo loves to shake defenders in the half court and make a highlight out of them. Ojielo has a sweeping crossover and does an excellent job of using head fakes to get defenders out of position. Off the ball, the lefty can shoot it from 3-point range and likes to spot-up in the corners.
Jack Rose – 2022 – W/G – Wisconsin Playground Club
This looks like a solid all-around prospect. Rose may not jump out in any particular area, but he’s one of those guys that doesn’t have a ton of weaknesses. One area that Rose does excel at right now is as a mid-range shooter. A lost art in the game today, Rose is very consistent when he pulls up from 12-15 feet. The 6-foot-5 freshman plays with a high motor on both ends, specifically defensively where he’ll get after people and create mistakes. We haven’t ranked the class of 2022 yet, but Rose will fall in the top 20, if not higher.
