West Virginia and Minnesota recently joined Wisconsin as high major programs to offer Davis. West Virginia offered a week ago while Minnesota offered over the past weekend:
Davis on West Virginia: “I talked to Coach Huggins on the phone. He said he likes the way I play defense and that’s a main focus at West Virginia. I was very excited (about the offer). I know that it is a great school and they have a great community in Morgantown.”
Davis on Minnesota: “I know that they’re a very unselfish program and they play really well as a team. I’ve talked with Coach Rob Jeter a lot. He’s a great guy to talk to and he understands the game very well.”
Other programs are also contacting Davis. “I’m also hearing from Iowa, Virginia, Nebraska, and a few others I can’t think of at the moment,” said Davis.
Most of the programs Johnny is talking to are from the Upper Midwest but Virginia and UNLV are of course coastal schools. Although most schools are in Big Ten country that is not going to limit Davis to where he attends college.
“It doesn’t matter how close any school is,” Davis said. “Wherever I fit in best, and the best environment and people are, it’s all I care about.”
