Leading Neenah to a 19-8 record in the always loaded Fox Valley Association and a Division 1 state tournament berth, Klesmit had a breakout 2018-19 campaign, averaging 24.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
Heading into the spring evaluation period, Klesmit is now attracting a variety of potential suitors across all levels.
“I’ve had a lot of interest from Minnesota-Duluth, Hillsdale, and some other D2’s in Minnesota,” Klesmit told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “I’ve had a few mid-majors hit me up as well.
“As the summer progresses, I think the ride should get more fun.”
Klesmit said two programs appear the most serious at this point in his recruitment.
“Air Force has been recruiting me heavily so far,” he said. “They’re trying to get me out there for a visit soon. They want to get me out there for camp.”
“I’ve had a lot of back and forth with the Minnesota-Duluth coaches as well. I took my unofficial in the fall. They want to get me back for an official. They’re just keeping in touch with me pretty well.”
Klesmit also has Division 1 interest coming from UW-Milwaukee, Valparaiso, and UW-Green Bay.
The 6-foot-3 junior is being recruited to play both guard spots.
“(Schools) like my blend, that I can play either point guard or shooting guard.” he said. “I’ll do whatever helps my team at the end of the day.”
Playing with the Wisconsin Blizzard during the travel season, Klesmit is in no rush with his recruitment.
“I want to see who I gel with when I get to the school,” he said. “What they offer for education will be big as well. My teammates will be a big part of it as well.”
