He is the first Georgia native to represent in the Nike Hoop Summit game since Collin Sexton back in 2017. The Hoop Summit is a showcase game that features some of the country’s best prospects in the senior class against some of the world’s best prospects.
The Auburn commit has certainly been in a USA uniform once before and that was back in June of 2018. Okoro was apart of the U17 National Team that captured the gold medal back in June during the 2018 U17 FIBA Americas in South America. Isaac also participated in the USA Basketball mini camp back in April at the 2018 NCAA’s Men’s Final Four in San Antonio, Texas. His high school and former AAU teammates Sharife Cooper and Brandon Boston Jr. of Norcross High School participated in this year’s mini camp in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Isaac has had himself an amazing ten months on the basketball court. Despite winnning McEachern’s first ever state title and finishing the high school season with an impressive 32-0, Okoro has received a Pangos AA camp invite, captured a gold medal with the USA U17 squad, finished the EYBL season at a 13-3 overall record and making another Nike Peach Jam appearance with Athletes of Tomorrow (GA), won both the City of Palms Classic and Bass Pro Shop TOC, and received the region player of the year award over the last ten months.
The senior forward’s next stop? Auburn University, who just came off their first final four appearance since 1984 and capturing the loaded SEC title. Joining him will also be forward Jaylin Williams, who is also from the state of Georgia out in Brantley County. Okoro has had him one hell of a career in the peach state and will finish his high school career with a 113-8 overall record in a McEachern uniform.
