4A Boys Basketball – 2018-2019
Kaleb Bannon 5’11 WG / Liberty Hill / 2020
Stocky build. Hit a lot of big shots in the tourney. Has a quick release on his jumper. Utilizes his size well on both sides of the ball. Was able to draw multiple defenders to get his teammates involved. Tourney averages were 12.5 ppg, 4 rpg, 1.5 spg, and 1 apg. He shot from the field 8/17 .470 from deep he went 4/8 .500 and from the charity stripe 5/5 1.000
Trae Clayton 6’4 SF / Faith Family / 2022 PHTX25
He was awarded state tournament MVP. High volume scorer in the paint. Attacks the lane aggressively from the wing. Played solid on-ball defense. Was able to alter shots and had active hands. His tourney average was 25 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 3.5 spg, 1 apg, and 1 bpg. Shot from the field 22/33 .666 from deep 0/1 and from the foul line 6/9 .666
Gage Rieger 6’0 G / Decatur / 2020
Played solid in the one game at the tournament. He was able to get to the paint. Finished well at the rim. He was also able to get his teammates involved in the game. Finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Shot 6/11 from the field, went 0/2 from behind the arc, and 3/3 from the free throw line.
JoQuarius Valrie 6’5 SF / Yates / 2019 PHTX200
His stock continues to rise. He was the X factor for his team. He was able to create his own shot. Took his man off the dribble with ease. He scored the ball at all levels. Played scrappy on the defensive side of the ball. Finished with 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Shot 11/20 from the field, went 5/9 from deep and shot 0/2 from the foul line.
Jordan Walsh 6’7 SF / Faith Family / 2022 PHTX25
Plays aggressively on the defensive end. Finishes well at the rim. Plays above the rim. Has a nice handle on the ball. Great wingspan with a lot of upsides. Tourney averages of 10.5 ppg, 3 rpg, 2 spg, and 1 apg. Shot from the field 9/16 .562 went 0/1 from deep and 3/4 .750 from the free throw line.
5A Boys Basketball – 2018-2019
Jalen Jackson 5’10 PG / Wagner / 2019 [North Texas – D1] PHTX200
Solid offensive awareness. Quick first step. Strong handle on the ball. He was able to get to the rim. Had some tough finishes over bigger defenders. He is also a good rebounder for his size. Tourney averages were 17 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.5 apg, and 1.5 spg. He shot 11/26 .423 from the field, went 0/2 from deep and 12/14 .857 from the charity stripe.
Journee Phillips 6’2 SG / Wagner / 2020 PHTX100
Plays with a great motor. Finishes well around the rim. Showcased his mid-range game. He is bouncy and is active on the glass. Solid on-ball defender. Physical on both ends of the floor. Tourney averages were 20.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, and 1.5 spg. Shot from the field 17/32 .531 from the trey ball line 1/3 .333 and from the foul line 6/13 .461
C.J. Smith 5’9 PG / Mansfield Timberview / 2019 PHTX200
He was awarded State Tournament MVP. Plays with a great motor. Very quick guard that can shoot the long ball. Good lateral movement on the defensive end. He was able to penetrate the lane. Plays with multiple speeds and controls the game. Tourney averages was 24 ppg, 2 rpg, 1.5 apg, and 1,5 spg. Shot 14/28 .500 from the field, went 4/7 .571 from deep and 16/19 .842 from the free throw line. He currently holds an offer from Western Texas College [JuCo]. Would be a great addition D2/D3/NAIA/JuCo.
Rodrigo Soares 6’4 SG / Mansfield Timberview / 2019 PHTX200
Has a solid frame. Was able to beat his opponent off the dribble. Has a great dribble/skill package to create space. He has a quick release on his jump shot. Plays aggressively on the defensive side of the ball. Tourney averages was 13 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2.5 apg. Shot 9/15 .600 from the field, shot 3/9 .333 from behind the arc and 5/7 .714 from the foul line. He has a few JuCo offers, could be a great addition to a D1 Low-Major/D2/D3/NAIA/JuCo program.
Trazarien White 6’6 CF / Mansfield Timberview / 2019 [Air Force – D1] PHTX200
Played well on the inside and solid from the wing. Active on the glass. He is a good passer from the high post position. Physical defender with a long wingspan. Has great timing on shot blocking. Tourney averages were 15 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2 bpg, and 1 spg. Shot 12/22 .545 from the field, and shot 6/11 .545 from the foul line.
6A Boys Basketball – 2018-2019
Langston Love 6’4 CG / Steele / 2021 PHTX50
He was able to get to the rim at will. Has a good frame with great speed. Quick off the bounce. He is able to get his teammates involved in the game. Has good lateral movement. Finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. He shot 7/16-FG, 1/5-3FG, and 8/11-FT.
Kharee McDaniel 5’10 PG / Klein Forest / 2019 [Central Oklahoma – D2] PHTX200
Played poised and with patience both games. High motor and controls the offense. Plays with multiple speeds. Good lateral movement. Tourney averages were 19.5 ppg, 3.5 spg, and 2.5 apg. He shot from the field 11/29 .379 went 6/13 .461 from deep and shot 11/12 .916 from the fouls line.
Micah Peavy 6’7 SF / Duncanville / 2020 PHTX100
He was crowned State Tournament MVP. Plays with a super high motor. He finishes well around the rim. Strong handle on the ball. Very active on the glass. His tourney averages were 20 ppg, 9 rpg, and 2.5 spg. Shot 18/32 .562 from the field, went 2/2 1.000 from behind the arc, and shot 2/3 .666 from the foul line.
Jahmi’us Ramsey 6’5 SG / Duncanville / 2019 [Texas Tech – D1] PHTX200
Explosive athletic scorer. Active on the glass. Good lateral movement. Quick hands defensively. Finished the tourney with averages of 17.5 ppg, 10 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 3 spg. He shot 12/33 .363 from the field, shot 2/11 .181 from deep, and went 9/15 .600 from the foul line.
Calvin Solomon 6’6 CF / Klein Forest / 2019 PHTX200
Plays with a great motor. He’s a defensive specialist, altering shots and plays the passing lanes. Solid lateral movement. Finishes well around the rim. Tourney averages were 19 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, 3 spg, and 1 bpg. Shot 12/15 .800 from the field, and shot 14/19 .736 from the foul line. He holds three D1 offers (Texas Southern, Stephen F Austin, and Louisiana Tech).
