The two-day event featured camp games and skills instruction from former NBA player and college head coach Reggie Theus.
We attended Sunday’s camp games and all-star games and here are the top wings from the event:
Ashton Hardaway (2023/Long Beach, CA)
Hardaway, the son of former NBA star and current Memphis coach Penny Hardaway, has a smooth looking feel to his game, especially when he lets go of a long perimeter shot. The 6-foot-4 eighth grader has fluid shooting mechanics and gets impressive arc on his shot resulting in a soft touch on the rim.
Verrick Lewis (2023/Elk Grove, CA)
Lewis is of the athletic slasher mold as he moves well without the ball and finds weak spots in the defense to cut into and finish off layups. The 6-foot-3 forward is an active offensive and defensive rebounder and showed impressive instincts as an on-ball defender.
Carter Bryant (2024/Riverside, CA)
Bryant, a seventh grader, was one of the youngest players in the event, but didn’t show any fear of playing up. He has impressive size and length for his age at 6-feet-1 and displayed an advanced feel and IQ for the game. Bryant didn’t force offensive actions and made a handful of strong reads off of high ball-screen action and in transition. Bryant has a smooth shooting stroke with deep range.
Maurice Wright (2023/Pamdale, CA)
Wright is another active and high motor prospect who gets a lot of things done when he’s on the floor. Whether it be finishing off a transition bucket or blowing by a defender and getting into the paint, Wright has the athleticism and body control to absorb and finish through contact.
Jayden Harper (Canoga Park, CA)
Harper was another smooth scoring wing who also doubled as a guy who can initiate offense. The 6-foot-2 wing has a simple but effective handle that allows him to get to the spots where he’s most successful as a scorer. One thing that stood out most about Harper was that he doesn’t over-handle or dribble the air out of the ball.
