Marcus Domask – Waupun
In the month of January, Domask failed to score under 20 points just once. The one time he didn’t score over 20 points, Domask dropped 19 points and had a triple-double. Paired with his big numbers, Domask has also been very efficient. Throughout January, Domask has not missed over 10 shots in a game and shot a staggering 66 percent from the field. The NKU commit was also just ranked number one in the most recent Prep Hoops Wisconsin 2019 class rankings.
David Joplin – Brookfield Central
I really like David Joplin’s game. Joplin is a very intriguing prospect because of his skillset. The sophomore is deadly on the block, and an improving three-point shooter. He has also proved that he is capable of playing well against Wisconsin’s best competition. On January 24th, David Joplin squared off with Patrick Baldwin Jr. In the critical matchup, Joplin had a double-double with 30 points and 14 rebounds. I think that it is time that we start talking about David Joplin as an elite prospect in the state of Wisconsin.
Qwan Jackson- Milwaukee Lifelong Learning
On January 9th, Qwan Jackson scored 70 points… that was not a typo. Qwan Jackson actually scored 70 points in a high school basketball game. Before the month of January, not a lot of people had heard about the 5’5″ guard who attends a small Milwaukee school. Now he’s a national headline. Jackson does not play against the stiffest of competition, but he still has put up ridiculous numbers in the month of January. Regardless of who he has played against, Jackson’s video game like month makes him deserving of a spot on this list.
Jacob Ognacevic- Sheboygan Lutheran
Jacob Ognacevic has put up some of the best numbers in the state of Wisconsin, but this month he took it to a different level. In the month of January, Ognacevic scored over 30 points three times, including a 40 point explosion that came against Green Bay NEW Lutheran. Not only was Ognacevic’s scoring a lot of points, but he was also doing it very efficiently. Throughout the entire month of January, he’s shot over 50 percent from the field in every single game. The 6’7″ forward has also averaged 15.8 rebounds in January.
Kobe Johnson- Nicolet
Despite being apart of one of the most talented teams in Wisconsin, Kobe Johnson has been able to play meaningful minutes and help Nicolet win games. Johnson, at times, has been overshadowed by Jalen Johnson and Jamari Sibley, but the point guard is starting to get some well-deserved recognition. Last month, Johnson scored over ten points on four occasions. After a solid January, Kobe Johnson will look to grow and improve even more.
