This was the case on Wednesday night as Greenfield met up with Trinity Christian for a matchup of the two teams that competed for a state championship last season.
Greenfield 2020 Guard Creighton Lebo: He started the game off with his hot shooting and never looked back as he would knock down shots from all over the court. He does a nice job of moving without the ball as well as getting his shot off quickly without excessive movement or dribbling. The son of a coach, you can tell that he has been around the game for quite some time due to his basketball IQ, finished with 29 Points on the night.
Trinity Christian 2019 Forward Greg Gantt: He has been the main guy for TCS over these past few weeks and has turned plenty of heads with his play. Constantly aggressive in the paint but also showing his ability to score the ball from outside is what we saw from Gantt last night. The mixture of strength and skillset is what has the fans of Providence excited about him for next season, finished with 19 points.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard DJ Horne: He would finish with 16 points overall but the third quarter is where he had his best offensive showing, with 9 points in that quarter. He can knock down shots from deep but also has showed some athletic ability with a put back dunk off a missed shot in the 2nd half.
Greenfield School 2020 Wing Jacari Outlaw: Had a nice showing overall, was pretty efficient with the touches he got and came up big down the stretch. There is a lot to like about his game as he is about 6’4/6’5, athletic and has the ability to score from all over the court.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard KJ Marshall: Didn’t have his best showing but had some moments that showed his talents. Plays the game at a high tempo, can knock down shots but don’t force plays for the most part, finished with 8 points.
Greenfield School 2020 Forward Trey Pittman: He is what we would call a stretch forward without a doubt, you can use him in pick and pop situations due to the fact that he can knock down shots at a nice rate. On the defensive end of the floor he was solid, defending inside the paint without fouling and doing a nice job rebounding the ball.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard Talton Jones: His offense wasn’t necessarily going for him but he still made an impact on the game with just his defense alone. He does a nice job of defending without fouling and using his lateral quickness/quick hands to come up with steals and deflections.
Greenfield School 2020 Guard Djimon Bailey: Solid showing overall, this season we are seeing him spend more time at the PG spot, making plays for others. In the 2nd half, he was more aggressive to score but remained highly efficient as far as field goal percentage goes, UNCG was in the building to see him.
Greenfield School 2019 Guard Bryson Baker: Was clutch down the stretch for Greenfield, he knocked down a trey ball that would give the Knights the lead late in the game. Then with just moments remaining, he knocked down two free throws to make the game a two possession contest.
