Continue ReadingColumbia Christian has some serious talent this season, but with its youth some senior leadership is needed. For that, enter Dominic Blake. The steady 6-foot-1, 145-pound point guard has embraced his role as the senior leader of the team and last week, helped the Knights to two big wins over 6A squads in the Les Schwab Invitational.
“It was a great experience for us to learn and play better teams to get ready for the rest of the season and for state,” Blake said. “I feel like my game has gotten better. My leadership has picked up a little more and I’ve gotten tougher.”
Over the four games at the LSI, Blake averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 assists, leading the offense while hitting the open three. He’s hopeful that college programs are watching and so far has been hearing from Blue Mountain CC and Linn-Benton CC the most. He’s hoping to visit Linn-Benton soon. “I’m just looking for the best fit right now,” Blake said.
Blake is excited about what’s ahead after Columbia Christian’s performance in the LSI. But when it comes down to what he wants moving forward the rest of the season, it’s simple. “Just win,” he said.
Blake currently ranks as the #57 player in the PrepHoops Class of 2019 rankings.
