<p><strong>Spencer Hayes</strong> is coming into his own this season for St. Andrew's. The high academic wing has embraced his role a defensive specialist who is efficient with the ball. Hayes talked more about his overall game and gave us an indication of which programs are recruiting him during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>How are your grades right now?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "Recently, in the first trimester, I made high honor roll with a 3.7 GPA. That took a lot of work, but it was good."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>You didn't play last year, but it seems like you haven't missed a beat. What were you doing with your year off?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "Even though I didn't play last year, I still kept working out consistently. Working on my game to prepare for my AAU season with Thrill. They helped me out a lot."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What are the most improved parts of your game?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "My passing has gotten better. My defense has always been good, but I'm trying to improve my help defense. Setting charges, and I've been working on my mid range as well."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What's your role on the team this year? </em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "I'm all around. To be efficient throughout the game. Rebound a little bit. Score maybe 8 to 10 points each game, and get everyone involved. I'm also a defensive stopper." </p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What's underrated about your game?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "Probably my passing." </p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What do you need to work on?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "Being more aggressive, more decisive offensively, and not overthinking the game."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>Which schools are you hearing from right now?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "UMBC, Towson, and Loyola have all reached out to me."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What type of feedback do you get from college coaches?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "Working on my perimeter game, my shot, and my body." </p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What are your goals?</em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "To get my first D1 offer and win the MAC Championship."</p>
<p><strong>PH</strong>: <em>What do you think you can bring to a college program? </em></p>
<p><strong>SH</strong>: "My defensive energy. I typically shut down whoever I'm guarding." </p>
