Player of the Week: Week 9
After Walter Johnson Jr. took the award in week 8 with almost half the votes. This week we have another good group of candidates. As always, voting is open until noon on Friday and you can vote as often as you like. Here are this week’s nominees:
- PRP Senior Darius Osborne – The Panthers went 2-0 on the week with wins over Oldham County and Butler. Against Butler, Osborne had 20 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks an assist and a steal. On the year, Darius is averaging 14.4 points and 7.6 rebounds.
- Bullitt East Junior Zak Perdew – In a narrow loss to Fern Creek, he had 15 points and 2 rebounds with 3 assists. In a one point OT loss to Bullitt Central, he had 26 points, 3 assists and 2 steals and then had 17 points and 4 rebounds in a win over Collins on Saturday.
- Shelby Valley Junior Cody Potter – Cody led Shelby Valley to the All A semifinals. He started the week with 34 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Clinton County. Then had 16 points and 4 rebounds in a win over Danville before 25 points and 8 rebounds in a losing effort to eventual champion UHA.
- Hart County Senior John Shoulders – Shoulders led his team ti a 2-1 record on the week with 40 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Nelson County. He then had 18 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Green County before 23 points in a loss to North Hardin.
- South Oldham Junior Seth Johnson – The Dragon point guard scored 30 points in a winning effort over rival North Oldham in South’s only game of the week.
- McCracken County Junior Jackson Sivills – The highly touted wing led the Mustangs to three wins over the course of the week. He averaged 23 points per game, including 30 points in a win over Graves County that could be a regional championship preview.
