Notable Multi-Sport Athletes, Central Ohio:
Myles Martinez ( 6’7 / WF 2019 / Centennial):
The Ohio Dominican baseball signee isn’t only a stud player on the diamond. The lengthy Martinez is averaging 15.9 points a game for Centennial in the City League North. Also, a big part of a solid season Centennial is having. The 6’7 Martinez uses his size to his advantage, putting up solid rebound outings night in and night out. A scorer that will do more of his damage inside then not. A standout on the diamond and hardwood respectively.
Jack Sawyer (6’5 / F 2021 / Pickerington North):
Probably the best player I have watched this season, in either sport. A five star football recruit, with offers from most premier school. Jack Sawyer you will be seeing play on Saturday’s in just a couple years. But for now, he’s one of the best sophomores on the basketball court as well. Averaging a super 22 points a game for Pick North, Sawyer has a mid-range game that won’t be stopped. The 6’5 Sawyer can shoot it a bit with soft touch, or finish inside through contact. Jack Sawyer will be a name you hear for years to come in both major sports.
Otto Kuhns (6’3 / G 2020 / Bloom-Carroll):
The Bloom-Carroll starting quarterback is an impact scorer on the court as well. Responsible for over 3,100 yards and 37 touchdowns on the turf, Kuhns is averaging almost 23 PPG for the Bulldogs. A scorer that can really shoot it, the junior is quick. The tough WG can play exceptional on the defensive side of the ball as well. Otto Kuhns is the best player in two different sports for Bloom Carroll.
Mitch Myers (6’2 / WF 2020 / Marion Harding):
A tough linebacker for Marion Harding, totaling 143 tackles during his junior season. Besides being a legit football prospect, Myers is also the best player on the Harding basketball team. Averaging 13 a game on the hardwood, the junior is an exceptional shooter. A quick release, a knockdown shooter off the catch. The 6’2 WF is a tough rebounder for the Presidents as well. However, it’ll be interesting to see what Mitch Myers does over the next year in both sports.
Patrick Blubaugh (5’10 / G 2020 / Marion Pleasant):
Another tough MOAC player. Bluebaugh ran for almost 1,500 yards for Marion Pleasant. On the hardwood, the junior is a court general. Often, running the offense for the Spartans. Patrick is an exceptional defender, as he uses his quickness to his advantage. Won’t put up the most points, but Blubaugh is a capable scorer from deep and in the lane. You will see the stud Junior playing football next level, I’m sure.
Blake Miller (6’5 / F 2020 / Northmor):
Seeing Blake Miller play for the first time a week ago, I came away impressed. A big time scorer inside, it’s nothing for Miller to have a big game. The 6’5 junior is tough inside, as he often gets outback opportunity. With a long wingspan, the big man gets in done blocking shots, a big time rim protector. Besides hoops, Miller is also a standout football player for the Golden Knights, an All-Ohio caliber player.
Qian Magwood (6’0 / G 2020 / Walnut Ridge):
The lead guard for a good Walnut Ridge team, Magwood is a hound. A double-digit scorer for the Scots, Magwood is FAST on the court. Often getting to the hoop unbothered, or finishing through traffic. A capable shooter for the first place Walnut Ridge team. Also, Qian can use his speed to help on the defensive side, resulting in coast-to-coast opportunity. Besides a big time player on the court, the junior is even better on the football field. A legit football prospect, the big time Junior holds offers from Cincinnati and Youngstown State. I won’t be surprised to see High majors offer soon.
