2019 6’8 Tyrese Samuel | Orangeville Prep
His team did not pick up the win but he did everything in his power to help secure the win for his team. The Seton Hall commit was rebounding the ball phenomenally well on both ends, finishing strong at the rim and hitting shots from all over the court. He has a mismatch against a lot of his opposition due to his size and that was evident this past Saturday. Expect Samuel to contribute from day 1 at Seton Hall.
2019 6’3 Dashawn Davis | Our Saviour Lutheran
Dawshan was the other Seton Hall commit in attendance and he led his team to a win over Orangeville Prep. Davis has improved since I saw him in the summer and looked extremely comfortable with the ball in his hands. He has good lead guard skills and has proven he is ready to be a point guard in the Big East. He demonstrated very good vision and passing which allowed him to set up his team for man shot attempts.
2019 6’7 Marko Sarenac | Hoosac
I have never seen the Marshall commit play but wow, what a steal Coach D’Antoni got in the Serbian native. He stands at 6’7 but can handle the ball well and moves up and down the court well. He rebounds, passes it well to his teammates and was scoring in bunches on Saturday. He plays extremely hard and was all over the court doing things to help his team win. He had a very eye opening performance in a loss to a talented Prolific Prep team.
2020 6’5 Zach Harvey | Prolific Prep
One of the best long term prospects from Saturday was the 2020 shooting guard from California. There was nothing Hoosac could do to slow him down as he was beating his defenders to the rim or hitting deep shots from either a catch and shoot position or a straight pull up. He showed why he is one of the top shooting guards in his class and one of the most talented scorers in all of high school basketball.
2020 6’4 Nimari Burnett | Prolific Prep
Harvey’s running mate and lead guard for Prolific Prep is Nimari Burnett and someone I saw who had some Dennis Smith type traits in him. No, I am not saying he is the next Dennis Smith, but I saw some similarities as to how they move on the court. Burnett is an extremely versatile lead guard that can explode to the rim and someone that can do a lot with the ball in his hands. Burnett was definitely the most exciting player to watch Saturday and showed why he is considered one of the top point guards in the 2020 class.
