DeMatha Catholic traveled to Dallas from Hyattsville, Maryland to compete in the ARS Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest. There is where they matched up with a Denton Guyer team who was coming off a four-game winning streak. However, DeMatha snapped the streak in a lower than expected scoring game and won 60-53.

Denton Guyer | 12 | 9 | 19 | 13 | 53 |
Here are the nationally ranked talented players that caught my eye in the exciting matchup:
Player Breakdown
Hunter Dickinson / 7’1″ / C / DeMatha Catholic / 2020
Dickinson had one of the best performances at the Hoopfest with one of the most disinterested approaches. It is all business with him on the court. He shows no facial expression, but he gets the job done on the low block. He is a big target at 7-foot-1 260 lbs. and loves to play with his back to the basket. Dickinson is an old school big man that has a soft touch with his jump hook out to twelve feet. He will grab every rebound in his area. The southpaw takes up a lot of space in the paint. He finished the game with 18 points, 16 rebounds and Game MVP honors.
Justin Moore / 6’4″ / SG / DeMatha Catholic / 2019
Villanova showed that they will be impressive for years to come. Their incoming recruiting class of Justin Moore and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl performed well in Dallas. Moore has a strong body and is a terrific finisher through contact. He even stepped out and hit a couple of jumpers from long distance. Moore scored 18 points in the away team win.
Jahmir Young / 6’1″ / PG / DeMatha Catholic / 2019
Young played hard on both ends of the floor. The lefty stroked the three ball and was not afraid to get into De’Vion Harmon on the defensive end. The Charlotte signee is a tough competitor and it was fun to watch him play hard. Young scored 10 in the win.
HarmonDe’Vion Harmon / 6’1″/ PG / Denton Guyer / 2019
Even though Young was playing aggressive defense, Harmon was still hard to contain when penetrating to the rim. He puts his body into defenders when he gets them on his hip to shield them off when finishing. He has great dexterity which allows him to score through traffic and finish with high arching floaters. The Oklahoma signee needs to approach each game with an attacking mindset. It will open up the rest of his game and get everybody involved. Harmon led Guyer in scoring with 16 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists.
