6. Reynolds HS-Returning from this past season is Jalen Crowder, a smooth shooting guard that stands 6-foot-3 and 6-foot-5 wing Ethan Heffner is the newcomer to watch for this upcoming season over in Fairview. The Rockets lost one of the top guards in the area last season in Isaiah Pruett after he graduated but return a bulk of their roster. Look for Reynolds to be in the picture for a WMAC title.
Devin Elliott5. Carolina Day School-The Wildcats return three of the better guards in the area with D’Angelo Elliott, Devin Elliott and junior point guard Lee Langstaff. D’Angelo has picked up some Division Three offers and is getting some Division One interest. Langstaff is projected as low-major level type player at the Division One level. The biggest surprise this season may belong to Devin Elliott, the 6-foot-1 guard has transformed his body and is now able to score off the dribble and can get to the rim.
4. Enka HS-The guard tandem of Jake Smith and Devin Bassett make for a tough match-up and Smith is a scorer. Smith had multiple games of 40+ points last season and has the size for a college bound guard. He spent the fall playing football so he has put on some weight and should play a little more physical game this season. Bassett is a pure shooter that can get hot in a hurry from outside.
3. Asheville Christian Academy-The loss of Caleb Mills stings for Asheville Christian but they return some solid players from last year including 2019 guard Raishaun Brown, 2020 guard Tyler McKinney (maybe the best shooter in the area) and have brought in some transfers to help with losing Mills.
2. North Buncombe HS-The District 12 player of the year, Ren Dyer returns for his senior season and has a chip on his shoulder. He still has not picked up a Division One offer but he is well on his way. He is a player that can just out-tough other players, he is fun to watch with his ability to finish plays well above the rim and can rebound with any big in the area. At 6-foot-3, Dyer is a player that can play multiple positions on the floor, can defend multiple positions and is more athletic than anyone around.
1. Christ School-Lasalle commit Brandon Stone and top 40 junior Justice Ajogbor are the anchors down low along with 2021 forward Gabe Wiznitzer (offers from St. Johns, Iona). On the perimeter, The Greenies will be led by 2020 guard Norance Berry who has offers from Tennessee, East Tennessee, Auburn, among others. Also in the backcourt is 2019 guard Kojack Thompson, wing Trey Austin and guard Brad Halvorsen. Christ School plays a national schedule and will be one of the more fun teams to watch this season.
