Recruiting Report: Jordan Graham (2019)
George Rogers Clark should be in the hunt for the 10th region championship again this season. In order for the Cardinals to get to Rupp Arena, Senior point guard Jordan Graham needs to have a big final year for Coach Josh Cook’s team. Graham described his game as that of a “big, strong athletic point guard with a high IQ for the game. I pass the ball really well and my mid range game is smooth.” Jordan also acknowledges he has plenty of room to improve his game, “I need to work on being tighter with my handle and my 3 ball needs to be more consistent.”
Graham has spent his final AAU season playing with M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs and said the high level of competition taught him a lot. “I just think playing against that level of competition shows you what you need to work on. Sometimes you’re playing against a team that has 7 kids with 10 plus division 1 offers and a lot of teams I’ll play in high school won’t have 1. So that just helps your game in the long run by playing against the best.” Along with a successful AAU season, Jordan has 5 scholarship offers (Campbellsville, Gerogetown College, Pikeville, Tusculum and Tennessee Tech) and interest from many others, “I have interest from many schools who like what they see but want to see more or want me to improve on certain things.”
Heading into his final year at GRC, Graham only has one expectation for himself, “the only expectation is to do everything I can do to help my team win. In the classroom, in practice, and in the game. Besides that there isn’t an expectation just a goal and that’s to win the 10th region and go to state.” Coach Josh Cook has high expectations for Jordan as a senior leader, “Jordan Graham is a special kid with such a strong passion for the game of basketball. We need his leadership and work ethic for this team to reach it’s highest level. Most importantly, I want JG to be a positive role model for other athletes in our school and to help guide our younger players in what it means to represent the GRC Basketball program. I truly believe in Jordan Graham and believe if we have his leadership everyday, this can be a special season for GRC.” In the ultra-competitive 10th region, GRC has as good a shot as anyone to get to Rupp Arena in March. To get there, Jordan Graham will need to be the player he’s capable of being.
