ENC Backcourts To Watch: Part 2
Freedom Christian 2019 Brandon Murray, Thomas Miles & Manrique Alvarado: Murray is a player that we expect to put up some big time scoring numbers at the SG position, he is more of a 3 point specialist at this point but once he gets hot, it’s a problem for opponents. Thomas Miles is a new transfer from Kerr Vance that has a nice game, he knows how to get into the gaps of the defense and make plays. Alvarado has been a player that has logged quite a few mins over the last two years, he will need to be effective and efficient to lead this team.
Pender HS 2019 Guard Chance Poole & Khalil Marshall: Last year we saw flashes of how good this duo could possibly be, and with a season of experience under their belt, this could be a nice season for them and their team. Poole is a pass first guard that has shown the ability to have an 8-10 Assist game, while Marshall is more of a bucket getter who we have seen go for 30/40 on multiple occasions.
71st HS 2019 Thomas Hendricks & Demauriea Nickleson: This is an interesting duo that we have yet to see but we fully believe that they can be a nice combo, Hendricks has quickness and shooting ability to go along with outstanding defense. Nickleson on the other hand is a taller guard that knows how to get to his spots well and does a nice job of being able to play the PG or SG spot.
Broughton HS 2019 Guards DJ Thomas & Tynias Peace: If you have to line up against these guards, you can expect a very long day at the office. DJ Thomas is a player that has turned heads with his play this summer, showing that he can do damage on both sides of the ball. Tynias Peace is the type of player that we call a ‘‘box score shocker’’, he has such a calm demeanor when he plays that sometimes you don’t realize the damage he’s done until after the game is over. Both of these youngsters are players that colleges at the D3, D2 and JUCO levels should be keeping an eye on over the next year.
