Recruiting Report: Caleb Dorsey (2020)
Caleb Dorsey, a class of 2020 forward from the Hill School (PA), is standing out at Hoop Group Elite 2 in Reading, PA. At 6-foot-8, he demonstrates impressive versatility on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he displays a nice skill set and feel for the game, but also brings mobility, athleticism, and toughness to the defensive end of the floor. Dorsey, who has also been a standout this spring and summer with 16U Team BBC, discussed his overall game and recruitment in a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?
CD: “I’d say I’m pretty versatile. I can do a little bit of everything. I shoot the ball, rebound, can handle it, and pass the ball pretty well.
PH: What’s the most underrated part about your game?
CD: “I’d say my rebounding. I have a knack for knowing where the ball is. I rebound really well.”
PH: What is the most improved part of your game?
CD: “Definitely my perimeter game. My handle got better. My jump shot is becoming more consistent. I’m able to get to the rim pretty easily now.”
PH: What are you working on?
CD: “Definitely finishing around the rim. That’s been a deficiency for me. I’ve been working a lot on that.”
PH: How are your grades?
CD: “Very good. I finished with a 3.89.”
PH: Who do you have offers from now?
CD: “Loyola Maryland and UMBC.”
PH: What other schools are recruiting you.
CD:Georgetown, West Virginia, Siena, Illinois, Yale, Temple, and Delaware. But there have been more.
PH: What type of feedback are you receiving from college coaches?
CD:”They like the way I play. Think that my versatility on offense and defense can help a system.”
PH: What schools have you visited?
CD: “So far, I’ve only visited Temple. But I’m going to set up Georgetown, West Virginia, and probably St. Joe’s.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
CD: “A lot of energy. I’m a very good teammate, and I’m always in the gym.”
PH: What do you hope to accomplish this month?
CD: “I’m trying to get some more offers.”
