Prospect Spotlight: Kino Lilly Jr. (2021)
Kino Lilly Jr., a rising sophomore at Landon, has been on an absolute tear at the Capitol Hoops Summer League, where he currently sits near the top of several statistical categories. The skilled playmaker, who also stood out with DC Premier this spring, described his overall game and his goals for the summer in a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: What’s your relationship like with Canin (Reynolds)? What have you learned from him? How do you guys push each other?
KL: “Well, we push each other by working hard in practice. Competing against each other. Checking each other. Stuff like that. My relationship with Canin is pretty good; on and off the court.
PH: How has your role expanded from your freshman year to now?
KL: “I feel like I have a pretty decent role on this team. Hoping I can increase it throughout the years.”
PH: What’s the most improved part of your overall game?
KL: “Probably scoring.”
PH: What’s the most underrated part about your game?
KL: “Playmaking. I feel like I can make a lot of plays. Helping my teammates score. Getting assists. Stuff like that.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on?
KL: “Probably getting to the basket more. Getting to the free throw line more.”
PH: How are your grades?
KL: “Pretty good. A’s and B’s.”
PH: What do you hope to accomplish during the summer league?
KL: “Win the summer league with Landon. Just win it.”
PH: What are your goals for the summer?
KL: “To get an offer.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
KL: “Scoring, playmaking. Anything.”
