April Live Period Recap: 2021 Watch List
Several players made statements during the April Live Period. In this article we will acknowledge eight prospects from the class of 2021 in Maryland, DC and Virginia which stood out as a result of consistently steady play.
RYAN CONWAY | 16U TEAM MELO
Ryan Conway has the chance to be an excellent college point guard. He can control the game on both ends with his skill set, intangibles, and playmaking abilities. TCU recently offered Conway.
IKE CORNISH | 15U TEAM MELO
Team Melo’s Ike Cornish has showcased a solid skill set to go along with fluid mobility at around 6-foot-6. The future is bright for the emerging wing prospect out of Dulaney High School, who already holds offers from Old Dominion and Southern Utah.
AVERY FORD | 15U TEAM TAKEOVER
Avery Ford continues to produce, regardless what the setting is, and his skill set is improving. The active and lanky 6-foot-5 forward hits the offensive boards hard in search of easy scoring opportunities, and his defense has been rock solid as well. Ford is still relatively unknown in most recruiting circles, but that should change as he continues to work and remain consistently productive.
BRAYON FREEMAN | 16U TEAM LOADED VA
Brayon Freeman is as good as it gets in terms of skill, productivity, and potential among local lead guard prospects. Jamion Christian offered him when he was at the Mount, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Siena offer him soon. Freeman also has a UMass offer.
DARIUS JOHNSON | 15U TEAM CP25
Darius Johnson held his own at Adidas DC for Team Parsons, showcasing his skill and strength. He has the ability to score efficiently from all three levels, and defend with tenacity on the perimeter.
TREVOR KEELS | 16U TEAM TAKEOVER
14 year old frosh Trevor Keels was superb while playing up in the 17U division and winning the championship at Spring Jam Fest. The versatile 6-foot-4 wing, who holds a Wake Forest offer, did a bit of everything well.
KINO LILLY JR. | 15U DC PREMIER
Kino Lilly Jr. has the chance to be a big time player. We didn’t get a chance to see him compete during the live period, but we saw him play well recently at the super team showcase.
AJ WILLIAMS | 15U TEAM LOADED VA
Combo guard AJ Williams showcased big time potential at Adidas DC. He’s skilled with the ball, scores it well from all three levels, defends multiple spots, and creates well for others.
