The Talent: Moore vs Ardmore
Ardmore held off a strong fourth quarter comeback from Moore on Friday night to advance to the John Nobles Tournament Championship Game 74-71. Beau Archer led all scorers with 25 points in the narrow loss. Ardmore did a great job of executing their game plan throughout the night. Below the talent from the game is featured along with highlights of the game!
Big Fella: Berto Sanchez 2018 Ardmore Post
At 6’7 with a large frame, Sanchez was a load for Moore inside they could not handle. When Ardmore started to build their lead in the second half they did a great job of getting Sanchez involved. He has soft hands with some crafty moves around the basket that allowed him to finish well. Sanchez has improved his game a ton in the last year. He projects to the small college level. I think it will come down to fit for him at the next level. He is a guy you can count on to get 10 rebounds plus a night with his hard work on the boards.
Little Man: Jamal Clark 2018 Ardmore Point Guard
Clark may be small in size, but on the court, he was huge for Ardmore leading the way for them on the night with 21 points. Clark scored the ball best getting to the rim using his explosive first step and quickness to open the floor. He also was a solid creator with the ball for Ardmore. They will need him to have a big night again against Broken Arrow. Clark projects to the NAIA Division II level.
Sharp Shooter: Beau Archer 2018 Moore Guard
Archer was very impressive scoring an efficient 25 points with double teams being thrown at him. He has a good looking jumper, especially from behind the arc. What surprised me about his game is how much better he has become over his career at creating for others. Archer was previously projected to the NAIA Division II level I have bumped that up to include NCAA Division II level. He has all the tools on the offensive end plus brings great leadership, hustle, and toughness. In the right fit, Archer could thrive as a scorer at the next level.
Young Talent: Niko Williams 2019 Moore Guard
Williams has been hampered by various injuries throughout his basketball career and is not a household name to this point. However, if Williams can build off of the year he is having he could turn into a solid lead guy for Moore next year. The ceiling for him is still not set. He has some time to continue to work on his game. On Friday night Williams showed off his smooth jumper from mid and three-point range. It helps that Williams has a nice handle to create his own show when needed. Williams is a guy to keep an eye on at the next level. He projects to the NCAA Division II level.
