Player Of The Week Poll (12/25-12/31)
Tye Fagan (Upson-Lee)- Fagan and his Upson-Lee team continued their winning streak at the Lake City Classic this past week. UL beat a tough Warner Robins team in the championship game. Fagan took home MVP honors for the tournament, including 33 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 blocks in the championship.
Jaxon Etter (Etowah)- Etowah was extremely impressive at Wheeler and went undefeated in 4 games. The Eagles had big wins over SWD and Lithonia in the semi-finals and championship. Etter averaged 17.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 3.5 APG on his way to MVP honors for the tournament.
Malachi Rhodes (ELCA)- ELCA took home the championship in their division with wins against Heritage and North Atlanta the final two days. Rhodes was outstanding the whole week, averaging 13.5 PPG and 8.3 RPG in his 4 games and receiving all-tournament honors.
Everett Lane (St. Pius X)- SPX took home the championship in their Christmas classic, gaining nice victories over Canisius (NY) and Charlotte Catholic (NC). Lane came through as usual for the Golden Lions and was named MVP.
Mervin James (Pebblebrook)- The Falcons made some noise at the Wheeler TOC, defeating Grayson by 20 and then winning the final against Blanche Ely (FL). James, a Canisius signee, was terrific throughout. He averaged 19.8 PPG and 8.8 RPG in Pebblebrook’s 4 games, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.
Anthony Edwards (Holy Spirit)- Holy Spirit came to challenge themselves once again this past week, going 3-1 at the TOC. The Cougars defeated Wheeler for a 2nd time and also beat Lower Richland and Jonesboro. Edwards continued to prove himself, averaging 21.8 PPG and 7.3 RPG on the week.
EJ Montgomery (Wheeler)- Montgomery kept his strong play going last week with big performances at the TOC. Wheeler was in 4 close games and Montgomery came through in each, averaging 21.8 PPG, 11 RPG, and 2.3 BPG overall.
Brandon Boston (Norcross)- Norcross travelled to SC for the FBI Classic at Dorman last week where they won the championship in the Founder FCU bracket. Boston was named MVP for the week, and finished the tournament with a 22 point outing in the semis and then 18 points in the final.
