Farmville MLK Day Standouts Part 3
Ayden Grifton HS Freshman Forward Leontae Moye: If you’re a D1 program, then you need to go ahead and put his name on your list. He’s 6’6 with nice athletic ability and a high motor, so you can already see why we are intrigued about how special he could possibly be. In their matchup with East Carteret he came up with a monster game scoring 26 points and pulling down 14 rebounds, there is no doubt about it, he is a special talent!
East Carteret HS Senior Point Guard Maceo Donald: He brings the leadership for the squad on both ends of the floor when the game gets close. In their matchup with Ayden-Grifton he made some good reads and passes as well as applying good defensive pressure throughout.
East Carteret HS Junior Wing Jashawn Embry: When you first see this young man, you will automatically think that he is a star football player. He is about 6’3 with 200 pounds on his frame that looks like it’s mostly muscle, and has nice agility to go along with his size. He scored the ball well throughout the game and did some work inside on the boards at a nice rate, he excels in transition situations but was solid in the half court.
Riverside HS Sophomore Wing Kiam Bethea: Prior to the Farmville vs Riverside game the talk was about the matchup at the guard spot with Justin Wright and Jadakis Bonds. However Kiam made his case for being mentioned as he put together a very nice night offensively finishing with 25 points. He finished well inside, using all types of moves to get around opponents but what we liked the most was how well he played in clutch moments of the game.
Ayden Grifton HS Junior Wing Jekael Gay: His stats from the day wont jump out at you but the impact he has on the game as well as his upside is very intriguing. He’s 6’5 with a wing skillset but doesn’t mind banging inside for rebounds or when he has to guard a power forward/center.
Ayden Grifton HS Junior Guard James Richardson: James was a floor general for his squad, he ran the offense well and kept his turnovers low, all while scoring the ball at a high rate finishing with 18 points on the day. As long as he continues to improve his stock will continue to rise, he caught the attention of Davidson Community College with his play on Monday.
