2020 WNC Twin Towers (Justice & Justus)
The sophomore class in WNC is another strong one. Two names that are going to be on college radars and offer list are 6’9 forward Justus Shelton and 6’10 forward Justice Ajogbor. Shelton is a long-armed forward at Mountain Heritage High School and Ajogbor is a college-ready bodied forward at NCISAA powerhouse Christ School.
Shelton is a 6-foot-8 post player that may end up being as heavily recruited player as we have seen out of the small town of Burnsville. He is able to catch the ball in the post and score. Great defensive big that is willing to mix it up. He is Yancey Countys’ best inside defender. He understands the game at a very high level. He has a great low post game and can finish with multiple moves and is the team’s best inside passer. He can step out and knock down the 15-foot jump shot and can block shots with his timing. He has the bloodline for being a top-tier talent as his mother played in the WNBA and is the girl’s head coach for the Cougars.
Ajogbor is now up to 235lbs and has a 7-foot-2 wingspan. He impressed me today with his shotmaking ability from outside of the three-point line while making five in a row from deep. He showed a soft touch on the inside and scored with either hand over either shoulder. He has the size to push people around in the post at this level. He is a fierce competitor, goes after every rebound, and tries to dunk anything in the post. He has long arms and can disrupt shots and passing lanes. He has the ability to knock down a mid range shot Ajogbor has continues to adapt to the American pace of the game and his footwork is starting to catch up with his body. He has a soft touch around the basket and is skilled for a big man at this age. He is a 4.3 student in the classroom and is going to be one to track over the next 6 months.
