Santa Margarita, Westchester in Ryse Williams final Saturday
REDONDO BEACH, Ca. – A couple of teams that could be hooking up in a State Southern Open regional game in March will battle for the championship of the 66th Ryse Williams Pac Shores Tournament Saturday night (8:30) at Redondo Union High.
L.A. City power Westchester rolled past another L.A. City team, Narbonne, 68-50, in the second semifinal played Friday night.
That game followed a CIF Southern Section tussle between Santa Margarita and Redondo, with the visitors from Orange County prevailing, 64-57.
Six-foot-five Zellie Hudson, a transfer from San Gabriel Academy scored a game-high 21 points for the Westchester Comets while junior point guard Jordan Brinson added 10 points, eight assists and three steals.
Senior Kendall Frey led Narbonne with 11 points.
In the first semifinal of the evening, junior swingman Jake Kyman (pictured) scored 27 points to go with six rebounds and four assists as the Eagles held off the host Sea Hawks.

Fifth-place semifinals
Oak Park 71, Dominguez 70: The Dons, behind Cal State Fullerton-bound Wayne Arnold (33 points) rallied from a double-figure deficit to tie the score with 42 seconds remaining.
But senior center Ezekiel Richards scored off a lob pass from sophomore guard Clark Slajchert on the next possession and the Eagles hit just enough free throws down the stretch to hold on.
University of Utah-bound forward Riley Battin scored 25 points for Oak Park while brothers Wes (18) and Clark Slajchert combined for 30.
Senior Devin Garcia added 16 points for the Dons.
Arnold has 93 points in the tournament.
Saint Anthony 81, Mayfair 73: The Saints overcame a 33-point performance by Monsoons’ sophomore Josh Christopher to move into Saturday’s fifth-place game.
Saint Anthony got double-figure scoring from four players, led by junior forward Marquis Nelloms’ 20 points.
Consolation semifinals
Birmingham 71, Serra 58: Devonaire Doutrive missed his team’s Monday night opener with illness and the Patriots were upset by Saint Anthony
But his sizzled since, scoring 40 points in a win over Rancho Dominguez Tuesday and following that performance with another triple-double Friday to help his team move into the consolation final Saturday.
The 6-5 Doutrive went for 26 points (11 of 21 from the field, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals as his team led by as many as 25 points in the first half.
Six-five junior Doctor Bradley led the Cavaliers with 18 points.
Windward 79, Gahr 59: UCLA-bound Jules Bernard scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to go with three assists as the Wildcats improved to 2-1 and advanced to the consolation title game Saturday.
13-16 semifinals
Lynwood 77, Rancho Dominguez 70: Six-nine junior Carl Lewis made his first game of the event a big one while scoring 36 points to help the Knights to their first win after losses to Redondo and Serra. Sophomore guard Noah Laurie added 26 for Lynwood.
Inglewood 82, L.B. Millikan 65: Senior guard Kris Smith scored 28 points to give the Sentinels their initial victory.
