Recruiting Report: Trey Alexander (2021)
The recruitment of Trey Alexander 2021 6’4 Wing out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma started with a bang yesterday as Oklahoma State pulled the trigger to offer him. Prep Hoops confirmed the offer for the talented Wing on Tuesday night. Alexander is a long, lanky impressive young Wing. The offer made a big impression on Alexander. He has been working hard to get to this day.
“It felt like a dream come true,” said Alexander. “Like all the hard work, the miles, and waking up early were paying off.”
Alexander grew up rooting against Oklahoma State but indeed took notice of the success of the program. Over his young life, he has seen players go from the Pokes program to the NBA, most notably Juwan Evans a second-round pick by the Los Angeles Clippers last year.
“I always grew up a rival of Oklahoma State,” said Alexander. “But I always loved how they kept people going to the NBA, how they worked with Juwan Evans, he used to be my favorite player in college.”
The Pokes new head coach Mike Boynton made quite the impression on Alexander. He can see Coach Boynton has things going in the right direction.
“I like Coach Mike,” said Alexander. “You can tell he knows what he’s doing and you know that he is a great coach. He carries himself the right way.”
Alexander looks to open up eyes around the state of Oklahoma at Heritage Hall this season. He appears to be the freshmen that can make the most significant impact this year and for years to come. Alexander is the clear #1 player in the Oklahoma 2020 Class. Look for more colleges around the state and country to start recruiting Alexander.
