Prospect Spotlight: Ryan Mcdonald(2018)
Clackamas’s Ryan McDonald, a 6’0 155 pound point guard this season. After playing alongside mount hood player of the year Elijiah Gonzalez last year and placing second in state, he and his team are ready to make their own statement this year. Ryan brings plenty of things to the table when talking about what he can do on the basketball court. His ability to see the court, pass, shoot and defend were shown last year. He understands the game and has a high basketball iq along with superior athletic ability. Ryan has been playing for Elite 24 and was a big part of their summer/fall success. He plans on continuing to play with them through the summer circuit. Mcdonald has the ability to open many people’s eyes this year with his true point guard abilities, alongside 7 other returning varsity players, clackamas is a team to look out for. After last year getting second in state, and winning the state championship with his baseball team he is excited to start the journey back to chiles center. Ryan king Clackamas’s head coach states “Ryan’s ability to make decisions with the ball in his hands are very strong, we trust him within our offense.” Ryan has shown interest from division 3 schools so far but has the ability to surprise some division two’s as well this year. With an outstanding work ethic and a true competitive drive working hard every day to tighten up each part of his game will lead him to where he wants to be, his future looks bright.
