Opening Night Top Performers
While there were a handful of teams who tipped off their seasons on Monday night, most of the state saw action for the first time in the 2017-18 season on Tuesday. As the scores and tweets trickled in over the evening, there were some really impressive opening performances. Here are a few of the more eye-popping individual and team performances from across the Commonwealth on Tuesday night:
- Marion County’s Lez Means (2018) went for 45 points in their win over Bardstown.
- Taylor County’s Tre’Von Smith (2019) went off for 42 points and 15 rebounds in the Cardinals win over Washington County.
- Scott County’s Michael Moreno (2019) scored 40 in a blowout win over visiting Cordia.
- Wolfe County Senior Deven Stone went for a remarkable (and school record) 57 points in a 100-20 win over Lee County
- Christian County’ De’Torrian Ware (2019) pumped in 38 points for Christian County in their win over Paducah Tilghman. 2019 Rodriguez Thomas had 18 in the loss.
- Pendleton County (2019) Dontaie Allen matched Bracken County’s team total when he scored 36 in a 79-36 win.
- Trinity beat Bullitt East 85-51 and 2020 Justin Powell was offered by Cincinnati after the game. 2018 Jayden Scrubb dunked on the entire Bullitt East team, basically.

Madisonville F Ksuan Cas
- Fern Creek blew out PRP by a score of 87-63. Senior Ahmad Price led the Tigers with 23 points
- Warren Central (2018) Skyelar Potter had 35 points and 13 rebounds last night in a blowout win for the Dragons.
- Madisonville sophomores Ksuan Casey (16) and Kenny White (18) combined to demolish Daviess County.
- 2019 Lexington Christian F Kyle Rode flirted with a triple double in a win over Harrison County. Rode finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
