Thoughts: If you are looking for Kentucky’s best early season classic, this one may be it. Full of in-state talent, North Laurel’s “Nissan Classic” fields a couple of teams that will contend for a spot in the state tournament, as well as 6 or more players that could end up playing at the D-1 level in college. Talent wise, the event is highlighted with former Louisville Cardinal 2019 commit David Johnson, who recently re-opened his recruitment. Also reppin’ the 2019 class is Dontaie Allen who has four D-1 offers, and potential D-1 prospects Brennan Canada and Jordan Graham. 2018 is also well represented. Trinity’s Jayden Scrubb has a number of offers from D-1 schools and Oumar Keita from Cordia is one to also watch out for. 2020 Trinity stand-out Justin Powell is considered the top Kentucky player in that class.
