2018 Georgia Under The Radar Prospects
Here are some 2018 prospects in Georgia who may be overlooked, but should have big seasons as seniors.
Isaiah Bauman (Glenn Hills)–
When I watched Bauman in May, he instantly became one of my favorites. You will not find many kids with his level of competitiveness and intensity on the court. His approach to each game sets the tone for his team and is one of the reasons he is a good leader at the PG spot. Bauman wreaks havoc on defense, slashes aggressively, and shoots well off the dribble. He is a consistent contributor both offensively and defensively, a trait that is rare nowadays. Look for Bauman to make the most out of his decision to transfer to Glenn Hills.
Kyler Ingram (Cambridge)–
Ingram may be considered as somewhat undersized for a post at 6’5”, but his style of play makes you think that he is much bigger. He is one of the best rim protectors you will find and has a massive body that he uses to punish opponents on the interior. Ingram is an efficient, tough player with a high-motor that you love to see from your big man. He makes sure that his presence is felt on both ends and has an undeniable impact each game. The Cambridge program is one on the rise, and Ingram is a big reason why. Ingram has the ability to have a dominant season in Region 7-AAAAAA.
Michael Zabetakis (West Forsyth)-
Zabetakis is coming off a season where he was an all-region performer for a West Forsyth team that was able to make it to the state playoffs with only 5 total wins. The Wolverines will be looking to Zabetakis for a lot this upcoming season, and he is capable of handling a heavy load. A 6’3” CG, he is a well-rounded offensive player who can score on all 3 levels. Zabetakis also has some athleticism that should not be overlooked; he has a track background and will rise over you in the paint if you aren’t careful. Look for Zabetakis to have a big season as a senior leader for West Forsyth.
Rudy Fitzgibbons (Riverwood)-
Riverwood graduated some very important seniors and will be looking for someone to step up this season; Fitzgibbons should be that guy for the Raiders. He is a speedy PG who excels in transition and puts constant pressure on the defense in the half-court. Fitzgibbons makes up for his size with impressive athleticism and has proven to be a threat from deep as well. It will be tough for the Raiders to sustain the success they’ve had over the past few seasons but Fitzgibbons should be able to help the team find wins with his abilities.
Will Bracknell (Chattahoochee)-
Bracknell had a strong junior season and great summer on the travel circuit, but will be looking improve even further for the Cougars this year. Bracknell is an exceptional outside shooter in particular, but has no problem scoring from other areas on the court as well. He is a solid passer and makes good reads and decisions with the ball, taking whatever the defense gives him. Bracknell has the scoring ability and IQ to be one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in his region. He will make a college program better in the near future.
