Top 250: Future Floor Generals
One of the groups that really impressed at the recent Prep Hoops Oregon Top 250 Showcase was the collection of quality young (Classes of 2020 & 2021) point guards. Here is our look at the six guys that stood out as future floor generals to watch!
David Gonzales 5’10 2020 Silverton HS
The aggressive point guard brings a high level of energy to the floor and is a menace on the defensive end. Demonstrated an ability to score and set up teammates as well.
Jamison Guerra 5’9 2020 Sherwood HS
Undersized point guard showed off tremendous floor vision and the ability to get into the paint and make plays for his teammates. As he continues to grow and mature, his ability to finish at the rim should improve, making him a dual threat player.
Mason Lomax 6’0 2020 Sprague HS
The first in a trio of talented lead guards from the same school, Lomax impressed with his ability to get in to the paint and score as well as set teammates up for success. Also showed a flair for knocking down big shots throughout the day. Has a frame that looks like he will develop into a bigger physical point guard down the road.
Greyson Salinas 5’9 2020 Sprague HS
Lightning quick guard showed off a knack for scoring in the paint, utilizing angles and the rim to protect his shot. Very effective pushing the ball in transition, regularly made the right decisions on the break. Did a nice job of masking his size on the defensive end of the floor.
Kobe Withers 5’11 2020 Sprague HS
The aggressive Withers who started as a frosh on a Top 10 6A team displayed a controlled demeanor and approach throughout the day. Withers ability to handle the ball effectively with either hand, attack the paint, and knock down shots to range make him a tough match up.
Nate Millspaugh 6’1 2021 Clackamas HS
Despite being one of the younger players at the Top 250, Millspaugh quickly showed that he belonged with his ability to shoot the ball from deep. Equally impressive was the understanding he showed in using the pick & roll game to create shots for himself or teammates. One of the more skilled players to attend the event, will be interesting to see him match up with bigger, stronger, and older opponents.
