Shooters to Know
Caleb Barton 5’11 2018 South Sevier
Barton shot the basketball at a ridiculous rate last year. He is capable of shooting off of the dribble as well as in catch and shoot situations. Barton will be in the running for the 3A player of the year as he can take players off of the dribble in hard close out stiuations.
Matt Norman 6’4 2018 Timpanogos
Norman’s size on the wing translates very well to the college level. At the high school level, he is extremely hard to closeout on as he has the ability to shoot over smaller defenders and attack taller defenders.
Ammon Jensen 6’0 2018 Corner Canyon
Jensen will be a big part of the success of Corner Canyon this year. His ability to manage the tempo of the game as well as knock it down from anywhere on the floor is huge. He is a player that opposing guards will not one to help off of.
Brantzen Blackner 6’4 2018 Canyon View
Blackner is one of the most well rounded talents in the state. Defensively, his length and anticipation enables him to get his hand on a number of passes. Further, offensively, he has a confident stroke from anywhere on the court. He can elevate and shoot as well as anyone in the state.
Jeremy Dowdell 6’3 2019 Olympus
Dowdell had an exceptional season last year as a sophomore. His balanced scoring ability makes him a threat to score the basketball in an array of ways. However, his ability to shoot it from deep is the game changer as it forces teams to closeout hard and opens up the rest of his game.
David Andrew 6’5 2019 Kearns
Andrew is as good of a shooter as there is in the state. He possesses good length and shoots it well in spot up situations. He has improved his ability to shoot it coming off of screens as well as off of the dribble.
Davis Heslington 5’10 2018 Beaver
Heslington is a do it all guard at Beaver who would be poorly classified if he was called just a shooter. He is an elite level shooter but has a good mixture of things that he brings to the game. Beaver will have a strong showing these season with him back.
Taylor Zwick 6’2 2019 East
Zwick has a bright future and shoots it extremely well. He led East last season as a sophomore in 3s made and was one of the leaders in the entire state. He will most certainly look to improve those numbers in his junior campaign.
Cody Meza 5’9 2018 Cyprus
Meza has a unique shot but can shoot it as well as anyone in the state. He has a quick release and can let it fly from anywhere with unbelievable precision. Cyrpus is loaded with shooters in addition to Meza.
Garrett Spencer 6’1 2018 Valley
Spencer, much like Heslington, is more than just a shooter for his team. His abilities are essential to the success that Valley had last year and will have this season. He can shoot it with anyone in this state.
