OKC Prep Hoops Top 250 Stock Risers: Part 5
The Prep Hoops Top 250 was in Oklahoma City on Sunday. Throughout the week Prep Hoops will have tons of content from the camp. Keep checking PrepHoops.com for content. The fifth article from OKC features the final article of the first session 2018 and 2019 players.
Kamden Gipson 2018 Edmond Santa Fe Point Guard
Yes, Gipson is undersized at 5’7, but watch him play, and you quickly move past him being short. Gipson is a baller at the Point Guard spot. He scored the ball at all three levels, especially well from behind the three-point line. At the Prep Hoops Top 250 EXPO, the high basketball IQ and leadership of Gipson were very evident. Gipson holds an offer from McPhearson with multiple other small colleges showing interest.
CJ Parks 2018 Muskogee Post
Parks was the biggest stock riser of the morning camp. If he can continue to play the way he did on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Top 250 EXPO he will be rising in the 2018 Oklahoma Rankings. He has a great build at 6’7 in the Post. What makes him stand out is how skilled the big fella is in the post. Parks scored the ball good in the paint and from mid-range. He was everywhere on the court seemingly coming up with every loose ball.
Dyson Plumley 2019 El Reno Wing
Plumley had a big day Sunday at the Prep Hoops Top 250 EXPO. After having to sit out the entire summer with a leg injury, Plumley was back and looked better than ever. He finished at the rim well using his size and athleticism to make it look easy. Plumley is a top 20 ranked player in the 2019 Oklahoma Class. He will have an opportunity to take the reins at El Reno this year.
Julian Smith 2019 Sapulpa Point Guard
Smith thrives in showcase formats with his great iso game. He scored the ball well creating off the bounce for himself. At the Point Guard spot, Smith showed off his flashy handles and a smooth jumper. Smith is a top ten ranked prospect in the 2019 Oklahoma Class with several NCAA Division I programs showing interest.
Micah Lena 2018 New Lima Wing
Lena scored the ball well at all three levels at the Prep Hoops Top 250 EXPO. He has a good size and frame at 6’5 on the Wing. Lena had a huge summer of development with Oklahoma Respect. Expect big things from Lena this year at New Lima.
CJ Gunns 2018 Paden Guard
Gunns is a super quick Guard that dominated opponents getting to the rim and finishing. He is raw in many areas of the game still learning the ins and outs. The small college who lands Gunns will get a heckuva athlete with an opportunity to develop.
Tre Conley 2018 OKC Storm Guard
Conley was a scrappy guard that gave his opponents fits on both ends. Yes, Conley is a tad undersized at the Guard spot but his quickness, toughness, and shooting ability make him stand out. Conley is a microwave shooter that just needs to see one go in to get hot. He is projected to the NAIA Division II level.
