Breakout Candidate: 2018 Braden Boyer
Over the summer players have the opportunity to elevate their game and status on the court. No player did that more this past summer than Braden Boyer Broken Arrow Post. He took a chance with BTR and shined.
Boyer is a talented Post with good size at 6’8 with a long, lanky frame. At the four spot, Boyer can do a little bit of everything. Opponents must take into account his leaping ability to block and adjust shots. The ability of Boyer to run the floor adds another element to his game.
Offensively, Boyer is looking to extend his game out to becoming a consistent mid-range shooter with a respectable three-point shot. When given chances to flash his post moves with passes to Boyer on the block he has proven he can finish.
Boyer is hearing from several Low Major Division I programs. The opportunity to attend virtually any school in the region at the Division II level for Boyer will be there. The question will be, does Boyer wait until April to sign or sign in the early signing period?
If Boyer remains unsigned until April, don’t be surprised to see him land at a Division I program. After a breakout summer with BTR, Boyer is ready for a breakout with the Broken Arrow Tigers on the court. The Tigers are uber talented this year at each position. Boyer will provide a great change of pace as the Tigers can count on him to score when given chances in the paint.
The impact Boyer can have without the ball is what separates him from many other players. Expect Boyer to be huge on both ends of the floor for Broken Arrow this season. The Tigers will be one of the favorites in Class 6A.
