Recruiting Report: Carter Hendricksen (2018)
Carter Hendricksen is a 6’8 stretch forward from Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington, KY. As a junior, he helped lead Lexington Christian to it’s first ever trip to the 43rd district final, winning the championship against crosstown rival Lexington Catholic. The win also earned the Eagles a trip to it’s first ever appearance to participate in the 11th Region tournament, held at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. They fell to Madison Central in the quarterfinals by 1 point, losing 44-45.

By far the most successful season in LCA basketball history, the Eagles finished the year at 23-9. Hendricksen led LCA in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He shot 52% from the field while also shooting 36.2% from beyond the arc on 130 attempts (pretty impressive for his size and length).
Hendricksen played AAU ball this summer with the LEX Future. Going into July, he held offers from in-state D-II and NAIA powerhouses Bellarmine University and Georgetown College. By the end of June he had picked up his first D-I over from the University of North Florida.
He is also receiving interest from Lipscomb, Kennesaw State, and Air Force.
The Ospreys of North Florida finished the 2017 season 15-19, but finished 22-12 with a win against Illinois and trip to the NIT tournament the year before. In 2015, they earned a bid to play in the NCAA tournament, it’s first ever.
Bellarmine University is one of the top NCAA Division II programs in the entire country, same for Georgetown College at the NAIA level. Both are capable of competing for a national championship run every year.
Hendricksen will look to take Lexington Christian to another “first” during his senior season, a trip to the state tournament. The Eagles return 2019 stud Kyle Rode (14.5 ppg), as well as fellow senior, Austin Hall (14.3 ppg).
