Get to know the top five in the Oklahoma 2021 Class
Prep Hoops released the first look at the Oklahoma 2021 prospect rankings on Thursday night. Each of the players is entering the start of their high school careers. Below Prep Hoops breaks down the top five in the 2021 Oklahoma Class.
1. Trey Alexander Wing
Alexander is a long 6’3 skilled Wing with tremendous upside. When you watch him it does not take long to see he has the “IT” factor that separates him as a player from others. Alexander seems to glide to the rim with ease. He has a smooth looking jumper that finds the bottom of the net often. Alexander must look past the Oklahoma landscape and continue to push himself to get to the elite national level. He has the potential to turn into a national recruit in the Oklahoma 2021 Class.
2. Tobias Roland Wing
Roland is a physical Wing with great toughness about him. When he has his mind set on getting to the rim there are not many defenders that can slow him down. Roland has been put in the paint at times growing up, but this summer he got the opportunity to handle the ball more as a Wing. Roland certainly has to improve his ball handling but he showed great potential with the opportunities he was given this summer. Roland also needs work on his jumper. The upside of Roland is through the roof.
3. Dalante Shannon Guard
Shannon is the quickest Guard in the Oklahoma 2021 Class. Defenders struggle to stay in front of him as he uses his quickness to get to the rim. Shannon excels in transition leading his squad in the open court. He is athletic to go along with his quickness. The biggest area Shannon can improve over his high school career is his jumper. Shannon will be a fun one to watch grow on the court.
4. Matthew Stone Wing
Stone is a skilled 6’4 Wing with a killer jumper. He had a tremendous summer of growth playing a national schedule. The versatility to Stone’s game is intriguing. The jumper of Stone from three-point and mid-range coupled with his height make him tough to guard. It will be interesting to see how tall Stone gets on the Wing. Stone needs to improve his ball handling, strength, and toughness to take his game to another level. He has a bright future with continued improvement.
5. Marlo Fox Point Guard
Fox is a pure shooter from the one and two spots. He shoots the ball so well that it allows him to slide out to the two spot when needed. Fox uses his three-point shot to open up driving lanes for himself. The biggest spot in Fox’s game he can improve is his ball handling skills.
