Atop the 2020 Oklahoma Class
In some classes in Oklahoma, there is a debate for the top spot in the prospect rankings. However, the 2020 Class is evident, Bryce Thompson is the top player.
After this summer Thompson made it clear with his play on the court he is on the national recruit level. He dominated especially when you consider Thompson played up an age. He averaged over 15 points per game on the Under Armor 16U Circuit with Oklahoma Run PWP.
Thompson thrives from beyond the three-point line with a quick catch and release. Over the summer he learned how to be effective without the ball in his hands using screens and good movement without the ball to get open. Life on the hardwood gets tougher when teams gameplan for you.
The long, lanky frame of Thompson is perfect for him to become a complete dominant Wing. What has people excited to watch him over the next three years is the cap of Thompson on the basketball court is not even close to being reached.
Colleges have taken great notice of Thompson’s talents with multiple High Major Division I extending offers already. The latest High Major to show interest in Thompson is Kansas. Anytime the Jayhawks come knocking on the door the player is either special or is headed that direction. Thompson has not received an offer from Kansas yet but did visit the campus. Don’t be surprised if Kansas offers before this time next year.
The next steps for Thompson to take his game to the next level are getting stronger to handle the physical defender’s teams will throw at him. Improving his ball handling skills to help his drive to the hoop. The last thing for Thompson is to transfer his confidence and leadership on the grassroots court this summer to his high school squad at Booker T. Washington.
Thompson has the making of a player of a special player. Sit back and enjoy the show the young fella puts on over the next three years of his career.
